One Body representing Angling as our Sport & Recreation in Ireland.

The Angling Council of Ireland is the registered NGB with the Irish Sports Council and recognised as the umbrella body representing several different branches of angling in Ireland namely,  Sea Angling, Coarse Angling, Predator (Pike) Angling, Salmon and Sea Trout Angling. These may be divided in to three general categories, Sea, Game and Coarse.

We provide a platform for anglers to address and find resolutions to their issues and ensure the voice of angling is clearly heard. Together with Coaching Ireland and Sport Ireland we developed a successful coaching programme providing over 300 of our members with certification. We represent all disciplines in angling at national and international level and support junior development with our AFYDI programme.
